Morning Musings

Sunrise from a few days ago. This mornings sunrise amid the fog. Taken only a few minutes after the first picture. The sun moves amazingly fast! I never used to be a morning person. In the quest to find some quiet time in my day, I started setting the alarm clock for 6:00am. After many months, my body is naturally waking at this time. I arise, start the coffee and grab my Magnificat. I head to the living room and sit in my favorite spot. There is a huge window that affords me a spectacular view of the distant mountain. Now that fall is here, the sunrise is right around my waking time, and not at 4:30, like it is in the summer months. Every morning, there is a new and completely different show that happens outside that window. Some days are so cloudy that it just naturally gets lighter, but there is no great glowing orb rising from behind the hills. But, oh, those days when the sun does burst forth! It is a remind...

yarn along

This week has found me knitting with some very vibrantly colored yarn to brighten up these dreary, cold days. Simple knitting too. The kind I can do at my desk while I wait for little people to hand in their schoolwork to be checked. I threw some crochet thread into my Knitpicks cart to get the free shipping on my last order. I have been tossing around the idea to make a table runner out of these squares. Of course, I only have one completed. I tried to join the second one to the f...

Success!

I am not waiting for the yarn along on Wednesday. For one thing, I just am so excited to share how the basket turned out that I cannot wait! Did I mention that patience is not one of virtues I have mastered? For another thing, I also hope to have another project finished to share on Wednesday. Did I also mention that Tony has been gone for a week to Normandy to play his tuba and commemorate D-Day? No? Well, he has. I am also not patiently awaiting his arrival in a few hours. We are all more than ready to have him home. Trying to capture the color most accurately. This is not it. This is close, but not quite. This seems to be the closest I can get.
